Elizabeth Katrancha joined the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown faculty in 2010, bringing with her an impressive career in nursing that spans more than 15 years. In addition to having worked as a school nurse, she has worked as a staff nurse in both long-term care and acute care settings. She is a member of the National League of Nursing, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and Cambria County School Nurses' Association. Her research into the field of nursing education has been published in the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing, and she has presented at the National League for Nursing's Education Summit in 2010.
Mrs. Katrancha earned her MSN at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, her BSN at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and her Associate of Science in nursing (summa cum laude) at Mount Aloysius College. She is currently pursuing coursework for a PhD in nursing at IUP, where she was the recipient of the 2010 Foundation Doctoral Fellowship.
