Lady Cats Fall, 78-71, Wednesday at Wheeling Jesuit University

and the East Region's #8-ranked Lady Cats traveled the East Region #7 Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University Wednesday evening. Senior forward
Melissa Patterson
(Alexandria, Pa.) poured in 26 points to lead four Lady Cats who scored in double-figures, but it wasn't enough, as Wheeling Jesuit handed Pitt Johnstown a 78-71 loss.

, who now has 1,118 career points, finished the game shooting 7-19 from the field with three three-point field goals.

was also 9-9 from the free-throw line with three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Sophomore guard

(Johnstown, Pa.) had 12 points and five assists, while sophomore forward
Jessica Zapf
(Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Junior guard
Jaclyn Schirf
(Loretto, Pa.) chipped in 10 points and five assists, for the Lady Cats, who dropped to 18-6 on the season.
Pitt Johnstown shot 46.0% (23-50) from the field and 19-21 (90.5%) from the free-throw line, while Wheeling Jesuit ended 25-53 (47.2%) from the field and 22-23 (95.7%) from the free-throw line. Both teams connected on six three-point field goals.
Katie Repicky's 26 points and Lauren Hansen's 17 points led four Wheeling Jesuit players who scored in double-figures. Jenna Johnson tallied 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jade Eckleberry added 10 points for Wheeling Jesuit, which improved to 17-6 on the year.
Pitt Johnstown will host Senior Day and Alumni Day against Bloomsburg University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats will then finish the regular season on the road at Shepherd (WV) College on Monday and Columbia Union (MD) College on Sunday, February 27.
