The Civil Engineering Technology (CET) program prepares graduates for careers in the field of civil engineering. The CET curriculum provides a broad introduction to the areas of civil engineering technology practice including construction materials and management, geotechnical, transportation, environmental and structural engineering.
Civil Engineering Technology graduates pursue a variety of careers including working for consulting engineering and design firms, public and regulatory agencies, contractors and construction management firms, as well as industrial companies producing construction products.
The Engineering Technology Division provides Co-op opportunities using the Cooperative Education Program in the School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Representatives from the Co-op Program in Pittsburgh visit the Johnstown Campus twice a year. Sophomores and juniors who are interested in the Co-op Program can obtain materials in the Engineering Technology office.
