I am delighted to announce that Lynn Iams Barger has been named Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. Ms. Barger was selected following a national search and will assume her duties July 1.
We are fortunate to have someone of Ms. Barger's caliber, knowledge, and talent joining our leadership team. She brings a wealth of advancement experience and a proven record of fundraising success to our university. She is ideally qualified to bring positive results to our fundraising efforts.
Ms. Barger received her BA (summa cum laude) from Washington and Jefferson College, and her Master of Public Management (with highest distinction) from Carnegie Mellon University's H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management. She comes to Pitt-Johnstown from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she has served as Associate Vice President for Development, Acting Vice President for University Relations, and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Her career has also included positions with Washington and Jefferson College, Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau, and Butler County Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
As a member of the campus' executive leadership team, Ms. Barger will be responsible for identifying and cultivating major gift prospects while providing oversight to the school's advancement effort.
