Mountain Cat Men Fall, 100-72,

(Johnstown, Pa.) tallied 15 points, but it wasn't enough to propel Pitt Johnstown to a victory, as #19-ranked University of Southern Indiana dealt the Mountain Cats a 100-72 loss Monday night. Pitt Johnstown enters Thursday's road game at Columbia Union (MD) College with a 6-8 overall record.
Southern Indiana broke open a 43-37 halftime lead by outscoring Pitt Johnstown 57-35 in the second half on 64.3% (18-28) shooting from the field. The Screaming Eagles finished the game shooting 58.3% (35-60), while the Mountain Cats were 26-52 (50.0%) from the field. Southern Indiana out rebounded Pitt Johnstown 33-25 and held a 42-26 advantage with points in the paint. The Screaming Eagles also converted on 10-18 from behind the three-point line and 20-25 from the free-throw line, compared to 9-19 shooting from three point range and 11-17 from the free-throw line for the Mountain Cats.

combined to shoot 12-22 from the field with three three-pointers each. Junior guards
Joey Tutchstone
(Vandergrift, Pa.) and
Steve Scorpion
(Murrysville, Pa.) finished with nine points apiece and freshman forward
Chris Gilliam
chipped in seven point and seven rebounds.

also dished out a team-high five assists for
Head Coach Bob Rukavina's
Mountain Cats.
Carl Richburg's 23 points and Chris Thompson's 21 points led six Southern Indiana players who scored in double figures. Geoff Van Winkle and Randy Holbrook had 14 and 12 points, respectively, while Danny Gibson and Stacy Pearson each added 10 points. Thompson grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and Pearson added six rebounds off the bench to pace the Screaming Eagles, who improved to 10-3 on the season.
