English Literature at Pitt-Johnstown
The English Literature program at Pitt-Johnstown offers in-depth study of a range of genres, works, and authors in English and American literature and culture, from classical to contemporary. There is a diverse range of courses available for all students on campus. In addition to English Literature majors, the English Literature program also serves other students from across the disciplines who wish to minor in English Literature. The English Literature academic curriculum is enhanced by Pitt-Johnstown's wide and diverse range of cultural and extra-curricular opportunities, including film series, professional and local stage productions, and invited readers and speakers.
Minoring in English Literature
As is the case with most minors on the Pitt-Johnstown campus, the minor in English Literature requires 18 credits of work within the discipline to complete. There are required courses in both British and American literature, as well as a number of electives of the students' choosing. This is a fantastic option for students in other majors who wish to bolster their knowledge of literature.
