Mark Glova Wins Title at 165 lbs.;
Seven Others Place at Wilkes Open
     Senior All-American Mark Glova (St. Benedict, Pa./Cambria Heights H.S.) won the championship at 165 lbs. and seven other Mountain Cat wrestlers placed in the top six of their weight classes at Tuesday's 2004 Wilkes University Open. Glova defeated the University of Pittsburgh's Francis Iorfido, 6-2, in the title bout to claim the championship.
     Junior two-time National Quailifer Ryon Mazocco (125 lbs.) (Cresson, Pa./Penn Cambria H.S.) and senior National Qualifier Matt Roncolato (157 lbs.) (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury H.S.) each finished second, while red-shirt Albert Miles (174 lbs.) (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan H.S.) placed third. Miles' three falls in 2:54 earned him the 2004 Gorrian Award for the most pins in the tournament in the least amount of time.
     The Mountain Cats did not stop there. Sophomore Mike Fowler (Carrolltown, Pa./Cambria Heights H.S.) also placed third and red-shirt freshman Mike Corcetti (184 lbs.) (Export, Pa./Kiski Area H.S.) finished fourth.  Red-shirt freshman Eric Svec (141 lbs.) (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg-Salem H.S.) and junior National Qualifier Zach Majocha (HWT.) (Upper Burrell, Pa./Burrell H.S.) rounded out the Pitt Johnstown wrestlers who placed by finishing sixth.
