Lady Cats Suffer 3-0 Loss at West Virginia Tech
10/18/09...West Virginia Tech scored three first half goals, including a pair by Shaniece Thorpe, on its way to dealing the Lady Cat soccer team a 3-0 non-conference road loss Sunday afternoon. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 7-7-0 on the season.
Thorpe scored goals in the 26th and 32nd minutes, before Tina Ottey gave West Virginia Tech a 3-0 lead and finished the scoring in the 41st minute.
Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) faced six shots and made three saves but gave up three goals for Pitt-Johnstown. Andrea Arias earned the shutout in net for West Virginia Tech after seeing 14 Lady Cat shots and making five saves.
With the win, West Virginia Tech improved to 4-5-2.
The Lady Cats wrap-up a stretch of four straight road matches at Shepherd (WV) University on Thursday. Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home match and celebrate Senior Day against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Johnstown's Point Stadium.
