Men's Soccer Falls 3-1 at Lake Erie
09/15/09...Derek Swope's (Harleysville, Pa.) goal in the 20th minute tied the score, but Lake Erie (OH) College tallied a pair of unanswered second half goals to deal Mountain Cat men's soccer team a 3-1 road loss, Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Mountain Cats slipped to 2-4-0.
Lake Erie opened the scoring on Everton's Blake's goal on Rob Searles' assist 14 minutes into the match, before Swope notched his tam-best fourth goal of the year and tied the score off of Tyler Aldinger's (Elizabethtown, Pa.) header into the box six minutes later.
However, Lake Erie got goals from Scott Stuckey in the 77th minute and Justin Mihaley in the 82nd minute to break the halftime tie and lead the Lakers to the 3-1 win.
The Mountain Cats, who were outshot 12-5, got four saves from Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.), who dropped to 2-4-0. Jared Daly had to make just one save to help Lake Erie improve to 1-5-0.
The Mountain Cats travel to Concord (WV) University on Saturday and to the University of Charleston (WV) on Sunday for a pair of WVIAC matches, before returning home to host a conference match against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.
