The Healthy Campus Initiative is a University-wide Wellness program designed to address health and wellness issues using a multi-dimensional, comprehensive and holistic approach. Resources, programs and activities will be available to support and empower the campus community to optimally function across all dimensions of wellness. The Healthy Campus Initiative is a positive approach to healthy living that focuses on achieving balance throughout all aspects of life and maximizing individual potential.
This initiative, which is part of the campus' New Dimension of Excellence strategic plan, was launched by President Spectar to "increase awareness of the kinship between mind, body, and spirit."
To educate, encourage, and empower the Pitt-Johnstown community to make healthy lifestyles choices that will improve quality of life while supporting the overall mission of the University.
To provide education, information, resources, and encouragement to the campus community that espouse an environment entrenched in the dimensions of wellness: Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Occupational and Environmental and assists individuals in their quest for a healthy lifestyle.
