Lady Cat Soccer Falls 1-0 at Lake Erie
09/09/09...The Lady Cat soccer team battled Lake Erie (OH) College to a scoreless tie for the first 88 minutes of the match, but the Lakers found the back of the net with just over a minute to play to secure a 1-0 win Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, Pitt Johnstown slipped to 2-2-0.
Lake Erie's Jenna Hanford beat Lady Cat goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) for the game's lone goal in the 89th minute to lead the Lakers to the victory,
Paha faced 11 Lake Erie shots and made four saves, but took the loss and dropped to 1-1-0. Chelsea Gleson and Jaimie Nelson combined in net to make five saves for Lake Erie.
With the win, Lake Erie evened its record at 2-2-0.
The Lady Cats host Westminster College on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Davis & Elkins (WV) College for a WVIAC match on Sept. 19.
