Cross Country Third at Season-Opening Seton Hill Griffin Classic
08/29/09...Twin sisters Stacy and Kelly Goode (Pleasant Plain, OH) placed ninth and 11th, respectively to lead the Lady Cat cross country team to a third-place finish as Saturday's season-opening Seton Hill University Griffin Classic. Seton Hill's Hannah Lash set a course-record to win the individual champioship and lead the Griffins to the team title.
In all, five Lady Cats finished in the top-40. Stacy Goode placed ninth with a time of 22:03, followed by Kelly Goode in 11th-place at 22:30. Emily Doll (Wexford, Pa.) was 24th (25:03), while Brynn Waylonis (Central City, Pa.) (27:52) and Olivia Ragno (Johnstown, Pa.) (27:54) were 38th and 39th.
Lash's course-record time of 20:13 led all runners.
Seton Hill won the team championship with 34 points, followed by Concord (WV) University (35 points) and PITT-JOHNSTOWN (98 points). West Liberty (WV) University (121 points), Glenville State (WV) College (129 points), Davis & Elkins (WV) College (158 points) and Fairmont State (WV) University (166 points) rounded out the field.
The Lady Cats travel to the California University (PA) Vulcan Invitational on Saturday and to the St. Vincent College Invitational on Sept. 26.
