Pitt Johnstown Wins Fourth Straight With 85-74 Home Win Over Shippensburg
Two teams with three-game winning streaks and identical 3-1 records did battle Tuesday night when Shippensburg University took on

and the Lady Cats in the first game of a doubleheader in the Sports Center. Senior forward
Melisssa Patterson
(Alexandria, Pa.) tied her career-high with 27 points and sophomore forward
Jessica Zapf
(Pittsburgh, Pa.) added a career-high 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Pitt Johnstown to an 85-74 victory.
After Shippensburg cut the Lady Cat lead to 33-29 with 2:10 to play in the first half, Pitt Johnstown went on a 9-0 run to finish the half with a 42-29 lead. Pitt Johnstown increased its lead to 15 points with 16:27 to play in the game. The Lady Raiders climbed to within six points at the 8:58 mark of the second half, but that was as close as they would get, as the Lady Cats went on to an 11-point win.
Patterson
finished 10-19 from the field (6-7 from the free-throw line) with two rebounds and a game-high eight assists, while
Zapf
was
9-12 from the field. Sophomore guard
Allison Krischer
(Johnstown, Pa.) chipped in 17 points, four rebounds and four assists to help Pitt Johnstown improve to 4-1 on the year.
The lady Cats shot a very solid 53.7% (36-67) from the field and forced 18 Shippensburg turnovers, while committing just nine turnovers of their own. The Lady Raiders shot just 44.4% (28-63) from the field.
Shippensburg's Jennifer Scaffidi led all scorers with 36 points on 14-27 shooting. Shanna Oaddams collected 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, and Casey Reath added 10 points and 10 rebounds. With the loss, the Lady Raiders fell to 3-2 on the season.
