Pitt-Johnstown @ Your Service

Join us for the official kick-off of @ Your Service Week

Yellow RibbonHuman Yellow Ribbon
Show your support for our military personnel by helping to create a human yellow ribbon.  This living symbol is a unique way to honor our men and women in uniform.  Bring your family and friends for this patriotic event! Join us on the Pitt-Johnstown soccer field (Wellness Center in the event of mud or rain) at 5 p.m., Sunday, October 16.  Wear your brightest yellow!

Participants are also encouraged to bring items for our Care Packages for Solders campaign (to be distributed by Operation Gratitude). Items needed are: AA and AAA batteries, hand/foot warmer packets, socks (black, brown, or green…NOT white), 5-hour energy drinks, single-serve powdered beverage mixes, personal care items (lip balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, roll-on deodorant, razors, moist towelettes, travel-sized food powder, flushable baby wipes).  Donations can be placed in any of the drop-off boxes located across campus

Breast Cancer Health Fair

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so we are partnering with the Conemaugh Health System to assist with their Breast Cancer Health Fair.  Help us to promote awareness in the community by helping at this important event.

Arbutus Manor Field Trip

We're paying a Goodwill Visit to the residents of Arbutus Retirement Community in preparation for Halloween.  We will help sort candy for their annual Trick or Treat, and will also spend time spreading some Mountain Cat Pride among the residents.

Rise and Shine Girls' Mentoring Program

Help to improve the life of a young woman and provide an important mentoring opportunity as we partner with the YWCA of Johnstown for their "Rise and Shine Girls' Mentoring Program."  The activity planned for this event is Latin dance!  (This event is females only, please.)

Game Night - Memorial Medical Center Transitional Care Unit

We are paying a Goodwill Visit to the patients at Memorial Medical Center's Transitional Care Unit, where patients receive treatment and therapies to prepare them for a return home following illness and/or surgery.  We will spread good cheer among the patients by leading them in a number of games and entertaining activities.

Mom’s House Clean-Up

The folks at Mom’s House need some help getting ready for winter.  Volunteers will help to clean up the grounds and perform light maintenance inside the building (including painting).
