Pitt-Johnstown senior right-hander
Ben Watkins (Johnstown, Pa.)
has been named WVIAC Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week with Sheperrd (WV) University's Pat Smith after fanning 12 hitters in five innings in the Mountain Cats' 3-2 win over Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday.
Along with the 12 strikeouts,
Watkins
scattered three hits and didn't allow a run.
Smith tossed five innings of one-hit scoreless work in Shepherd's 7-0 win over Southern New Hampshire. Smith struck out ten and walked none to improve to 2-0 in 2009.
