Central Research Development Fund (CRDF)

The Small Grants Program of the Central Research Development Fund (CRDF) is administered by the Office of Research and the University Research Council. The primary goal of the Small Grants program is to enhance opportunities for faculty, especially junior faculty. Small Grants provide:

  • seed funding to develop ideas to the point where external funding can be obtained;
  • awards in research areas where external funding is extremely limited.

In the past, awards have ranged from $2,000 to $16,000. The maximum that may be awarded is $16,000. If you have any questions, please contact Tammeka Banks at tbanks@pitt.edu.
