The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Financial Aid Office, together with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), invites college-bound students to receive free assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during the FAFSA Completion Day.
Pitt-Johnstown Financial Aid staff will be available from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, February 21.
The primary goal of the workshop is to ensure that students accurately complete the first step in applying for financial aid. Attendees who have completed their 2008 Federal Income Tax Returns should bring their IRS 1040 tax returns, all W-2 forms, and any other income or benefit documents. Attendees who have not yet completed their tax returns may also attend and should bring all W-2 forms, and any other income or benefit documents, so that accurate estimations may be used. Students 23 or younger should attend the session with a parent or guardian.
“Together, PHEAA and Pitt-Johnstown aspire to help families cross the application barrier in order to qualify for financial aid. If more students complete the FAFSA correctly, more will receive the funds need to attend a higher education institution,” said Jeanine Lawn, Pitt-Johnstown financial aid director.
