Morgan Places Second at Penn State Open;
Three Other Wrestlers Advance to Semis

     12/07/08...Scott Morgan (North Huntingdon, Pa.) led a quartet our Mountain Cat wrestlers who advanced to the semifinals at Sunday's Division I-dominated Penn State Open by finishing second with a 4-1 record.  Jimmy Airey (125 lbs.) (Point Pleasant, N.J.), Shane Valko (133 lbs.) (Windber, Pa.) and Patrick Walsh (197 lbs.) (Leesport, Pa.) also reached the semifinals for Head coach Pat Pecora's #9-ranked Mountain Cats.
   Morgan recorded three falls and a decision to advance to the finals, but was pinned by Navy's Prescott Garner at 6:22 in the title bout.  Airey placed third at 125 lbs.
     Valko reached the semifinals, but had to take an injury default and placed fourth.  Walsh rounded out the Mountain Cats who advanced to the semifinals.  Walsh also placed fourth.
     In addition, Chris Dempsey (Sewickley, Pa.) placed sixth at heavyweight for Pitt-Johnstown.
     The Mountain Cats will break for Finals Week, before traveling to Clarion University on December 20.  Pitt-Johnstown’s next home match will take place on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7:00 p.m. when nationally-ranked Ashland (OH) University visits the Sports Center.
