Men's Basketball Picked Third In WVIAC
11/04/08...Head coach Bob Rukavina's
Mountain Cat basketball team, the defending WVIAC regular season champions, were picked to finish third behind West Virginia State University and Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College, when the 2008-09 WVIAC Preseason Men's Basketball Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday...
(Complete WVIAC Release and Poll)
West Virginia State received nine of the 16 first place votes cast in the poll. Second place Alderson-Broaddus picked up four nods for the top spot, while Pitt Johnstown got a pair of first place votes. Charleston, which rounds out the top five, was the recipient of the final first place vote.
Pitt Johnstown (23-8, 17-3) made a splash last season by capturing the WVIAC regular season title in the Mountain Cats' first season of eligibility. The Mountain Cats must replace WVIAC Player of the Year
