Lady Cat Soccer Falls 2-0 at Home to Charleston
     10/17/08...The Lady Cat soccer team outshot the University of Charleston (WV), 21-11, Friday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, but a pair of first half goals was all the the Golden Eagles needed in a 2-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown.  With the loss, the Lady Cats fell to 3-13-0 overall and 2-6-0 in WVIAC play.
     Charleston opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Aneta Pekalska headed a ball past Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) off of Caitlin Shaw's corner kick.  Sharon Lapinsky then tallied an unassisted goal in the 36th minute to finish the scoring and set the final score at 2-0 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
     Paha faced 11 shots and made four saves, but suffered the loss and fell to 3-11-0.  Charleston goalkeeper Whitney Sharp saw 21 Lady Cat shots and was forced to make 12 saves to earn the shutout.
     With the win, the Golden Eagles improved to 6-8-0 overall and 5-1-0 in conferrence play.
     The Lady Cats travel to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College for a conference match on Friday, October 24, before hosting Shepherd (WV) University in a non-conference match on Tuesday, October 28 at 3:00 p.m.
