PITT-JOHNSTOWN
STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAAC)
The Pitt-Johnstown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes’ lives on the Pitt-Johnstown campus.
Pitt-Johnstown SAAC Mission: The mission of the Pitt-Johnstown Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, acting as a liaison between student-athletes and administration, and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
Purpose:
o To generate a student-athlete voice within the institution.
o To solicit student-athlete response to proposed NCAA legislation.
o To suggest potential NCAA legislation.
o To organize community service efforts and create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on
campus, conference-wide, and nationally.
Opportunities
o Have the privilege to be a voice for your team.
o Communicate with other members to help enhance the student-athlete experience at SU.
o Coordinate events within the Athletics Department and throughout the community.
o Be a part of the policies and procedures that shape the Athletics Department and SU.
o Get to know other student-athletes and ain skills that will help your professional development.
Expectations
o Mandatory attendance at all SAAC meetings.
o Frequent communication to your team.
o Active involvement in the committee’s events and discussions.
o Voicing your opinion and sharing issues your team faces.
o Supporting the other members of the committee and their teams and upholding the SAAC Mission and
Purpose.
