Dr. Malcolm H. Bremer to be 2004 Commencement Speaker

Dr. Malcolm H. Bremer, Chief of Staff at North East Medical Center Hospital, Humble, Texas, a leading doctor in Houston in cardiovascular surgery, and 1963 University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown alumnus, will deliver the main address at the UPJ Commencement Honoring Graduating Seniors at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in the college’s Sports Center.
The commencement will honor approximately 540 seniors who completed Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Associate of Science degree requirements in August or December 2003, or are completing requirements in April or June of this year. Approximately 330 seniors will participate in the ceremony.
A Johnstown native, Dr. Bremer earned his doctorate from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa.
Dr. Bremer is an active staff member at Northeast Medical Center Hospital and Kingwood Medical Center Hospital and consulting staff member at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital and Plaza Rehabilitation Hospital.
He is a member of the American College of Phlebology, American College of Chest Physicians, American Heart Association, American Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, Houston Academy of Medicine, International College of Physicians and Surgeons, International Society for Endovascular Surgery, Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society, Ninth District Medical Society of Texas, Society of Vascular Ultrasound, Associate Member; Southern Medical Association; Texas Medical Association and Texas Medical Foundation.
