Dr. Denis Robitaille to Chair Humanities Division
Article Body
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Denis Robitaille as Chair of the Division of Humanities. His appointment was effective July 1, 2002.
Dr. Robitaille earned his AB from Fairfield University, and both his MA and Ph.D. from Michigan State University, establishing his teaching and research interests in French Language and Literature. Dr. Robitaille joined the UPJ faculty in 1977, serving 25 years as a faculty member of the Division. During this period, he has been active in campus affairs and has proven himself to be an effective and valued teacher and colleague. He has served on numerous committees and as President of Faculty Senate.
Dr. Robitaille will succeed Dr. Carroll Grimes who has served as the Division Chair of Humanities fro 32 years. Dr. Grimes will retire from the University in August, 2002.
Dr. Robitaille and his wife, Rosalyn, live in Ligonier and have one son, Daniel. I am confident that Denis will provide progressive and effective leadership for the Division.
