Phi Eta Sigma Announces Instructor of the Year Award Recipient
Article Body
Dr. Andrew T. Rose, assistant professor of Civil Engineering Technology, has received the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society 2002 award for Instructor of the Year. The organization solicits nominations from its upper-classmen, and a selection committee, composed solely of student members, evaluates the nominations and chooses the recipient. The award is especially meaningful because it comes directly from outstanding students.
Two Civil Engineering Technology students - Erin Lang and Traci Troncone - nominated Dr. Rose, and in a presentation ceremony for him on April 14, 2002, they described him as an exceptional teacher and role model, one who teaches with enthusiasm, discipline, and organization. The students praised his breadth of knowledge, his thoughtful guidance, and his ability to challenge them to think on their own.
Congratulations Dr. Rose!
