Minor in Physics

Requirements for a minor in physics at Pitt-Johnstown

I.                    PHYS 0150, 0151, 0152, 0153 - Physics 1 and 2 with labs (10 credits total)

II.            MATH 0221, 0231 - Calculus 1 and 2 (8 credits total)

III.                 A minimum of 8 credits from the following:

                        PHYS 0400 - Classical Mechanics (3 credits)

                        PHYS 0450 - Electromagnetism & Optics (3 credits)

                        PHYS 0480 - Astrophysics (3 credits)

                        PHYS 1111 - Special Topics (1-4 credits)

                        PHYS 1300 - Quantum Physics (3 credits)

One (but not more than one) of the following courses may be counted in Category III above:

                        CHEM 1341 - Physical Chemistry 1 (3 credits)

                        EET 0121 - Electronics 1 (3 credits)

                        MET 1110 - Thermodynamics (3 credits)
