2004-2005 Overview

        Ryon made it two straight trips to the National Tournament, despite moving up a weight class midway through the season.  Ryon’s natural athlete talent, combined with good work ethic and brains, makes anything possible.

 

Freshman Season  (2001-2002)

Took a red-shirt.

 

Red-Shirt Freshman Season  (2002-2003)

        Ryon made a name for himself after replacing Brad Yoder who was out for the season with an injury…National Qualifier after placing 2nd at East Regional Tournament…had an 11-11 overall record and a 5-6 dual meet record…placed 3rd at Slippery Rock Open…Second Team NWCA All-Academic Team selection.

 

Sophomore Season  (2003-2004)

        After jumping from 125 lbs. to 133 lbs. midway through the season, Ryon posted a 17-18 overall record and a 7-12 dual meet record…of his 17 victories, 13 came by way of decision…named Honorable Mention NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team…placed third at East Regional Tournament and advanced to the National Tournament for the second straight season…won championship at Slippery Rock Open

 

High School

        Two-year letterman…Regional Qualifier…senior year record of 30-13 with 15 falls…CBS All-Star…Honorable Mention Altoona Mirror…career record of 33-16.

 

Personal

        Born December 1, 1982…majoring in Business Management…three-year letterman in football and one-year letterman in track…Ken Lantzy Football All Star…Altoona Mirror Honorable Mention in football…SCFCA Offensive MVP in football… member of National Honor Society…earned Physical Fitness Award in high school…son of Bryon and Judy Mazzocco of Cresson, Pa.
