Gilliam Selected to Play in NABC All-Star Game 03/21/08...The NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee has announced that Pitt Johnstown's Chris Gilliam (Baltimore, MD) is one of 20 student-athletes selected for the Third Annual National Association of Basketball Coaches(NABC)/NCAA Division II All-Star Game to be held Friday, March 28 at the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.... (WVIAC Release) ... (NCAA Release) The All-Star Game will match an East All-Star Team (with 10 student-athletes from the NCAA East, Northeast, South and South Atlantic regions) against a West All-Star Team (with 10 student-athletes from the NCAA Great Lakes, North Central, South Central and West regions). Gilliam, the Daktronics East Region Player of the Year and the WVIAC Player of the Year, led Pitt Johnstown to the West Virginia Conference regular season championship, a spot in the NCAA East Region Semifinals and a 23-8 overall record. Gilliam paced the Mountain Cats in both scoring (19.6 ppg.) and rebounding (8.6 rpg.) and led the WVIAC in field goal percentage at 64.1%. Gilliam posted 10 double-doubles and led the Mountain Cats in scoring on 21 occasions and rebounding 20 times in 2007-08. The All-Star Game will be part of NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Elite Eight which will be held March 26, 27 and 29 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
