Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cat Wrestling Team Achieves National Ranking

Article Body     The UPJ Mountain Cat wrestling team has achieved another national ranking, placing fourth at the 2008 NCAA Division II National Wrestling Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA.  Additionally, UPJ Senior Albert Miles won the National Championship, and Senior Mike Corcetti was the National Runner-up.  

     This season marked the 24th Top-20 finish and 10th Top-Five finish for Head Coach Pat Pecora.   In his 30 years at UPJ, Pecora has been named NCAA Coach of the Year 12 times and has led his team to 19 NCAA Regional Championships.   He has been inducted into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame and the NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame.

     UPJ President Jem Spectar offered, “Through their commitment to excellence and dedication to the sport, our wrestling team and Coach Pecora have created a program that is nationally known and respected.   We are all Mountain Cat Proud of their exceptional accomplishments and the great distinction that they bring to UPJ.”
