Assistant Professor of Sociology

Three-year tenure stream position in Sociology starting fall 2008.

Responsibilities include introductory sociology and/or social problems, and one or more of the following: criminology, social psychology, family, deviance, or minorities. International, multicultural or inter-disciplinary perspectives strongly preferred. Candidates should exhibit enthusiasm for and proficiency in teaching undergraduates, show potential for research and professional development, and be willing to participate in all phases of departmental, divisional, and college activities. Responsible for four-course (12-credit) load per semester, advising and career counseling, curriculum development, and appropriate professional development.  PhD in Sociology strongly preferred but candidates close to completion will be considered.
