Teacher Education - Assistant Professor

Responsibilities: 
Teaching literacy methods, field practicum, and other education courses as needed; supervising Early Childhood and/or Middle-Level Education student teachers; advising Early Childhood and/or Middle-Level Education students; and engaging in professional development and university service activities.

Qualifications:
Doctorate in Early Childhood, Middle-Level, or Elementary Education or a related field, with a background in reading/language arts; a minimum of three years teaching experience at the Pre-K – 8 level with a focus on language arts/reading; and a strong commitment to developing partnerships with local schools. Successful teaching and or supervision experience at the college level is desirable.  The candidate must also demonstrate the potential to engage in professional development and publication.

Starting Date: August 2010
