#5 Wrestlers Roll, 34-3, Over East Region Rival Kutztown
     01/05/08...Head Coach Pat Pecora's #5-ranked Mountain Cat wrestlers won nine bouts, including falls by Derrek Bosso (Pequea, Pa.) at 125 lbs. and Kyle Keane (Clearfield, Pa.) at 165 lbs. in a 34-3 victory over East Region rival Kutztown University, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.  Pitt Johnstown, the East Region's top-ranked team, improved to 4-2 on the year.
     Bosso, ranked #3 in the nation, got the Mountain Cats rolling with a fall over Eddie Harris at 2:25, before #2 Brandon Reasy (133 lbs.) (New Enterprise, Pa.), #7 Shane Valko (141 lbs.) (Windber, Pa.) and sophomore Adam Whetstone (149 lbs.) (Claysburg, Pa.) increased the lead to 15-0 with decision wins.  
     The Golden Bears followed with their lone victory when Dave Zeek earned a 5-3 win over Mazen Kholi (Allentown, Pa.) at 157 lbs.  
     However, the Mountain Cats closed out the match with five straight wins.  Keane scored his fall at 3:38 over Sonny Flood, and #6 Albert Miles (Canonsburg, Pa.) won a 15-4 major decision over Curtis Beardsell at 174 lbs. to put Pitt Johnstown up 25-3.  Red-shirt freshman Nathan Murin (184 lbs.) (Washington, Pa.), sophomore Patrick Walsh (197 lbs.) (Leesport, Pa.) and senior Zach Majocha (HWT.) (Upper Burrell, Pa.) closed out the match with decision wins to set the final score at 34-3.
     With the loss, Kutztown, ranked #10 in the East Region, dropped to 3-1.
     Pitt Johnstown travels to the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Dual Tournament at Northern Iowa University next weekend, before returning home to host Anderson (SC) University on January 18 and Gannon University on January 19.  Both matches will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
