     BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular will bring a high energy tribute to the creatively-charged American urban art form of Hip Hop at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center Mainstage.

     BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular traces the history of Hip Hop dancing over the last 30 years.  Pure physical strength and powerful agility has propelled this group of New York’s finest urban artists through a show of breathtaking movements and pumping soundtrack with a live DJ and Master Percussionists.  Many of the dancers have been featured soloists with Madonna, Whitney Houston, Ringo Starr, and Janet Jackson.

     “Urban Funk Spectacular is a great group that brings a lot of energy to their audiences.  The Programming Board is extremely excited to see them bring that energy to our campus and community,” said Alex Schwartzmier, UPJ Programming Board president.

     Sponsored by the UPJ Student Programming Board, tickets are $7 and will be sold at the UPJ Student Union Information Desk from 9 a.m. to midnight beginning Wednesday, October 31.  Tickets also will be sold at George’s Song Shop, 128 Main St., Johnstown, and the Music Haven, Scalp Ave., Johnstown.
