Guidelines

For a great wireless experience...

Please remember that wireless PittNet is a shared resource, meaning your actions affect others on the network.  By following a few simple guidelines, you can help make Wireless PittNet a great service for everyone.

Be considerate of others

Using a lot of bandwidth slows down Wireless PittNet for others.  For this reason, you can’t use your computer as a server of any kind.  While you are connected you should also avoid activities that use a lot of bandwidth, like performing system backups or downloading large files.

Don’t use devices that can interfere with wireless service

Certain wireless devices, such as phones, cameras, and gaming consoles, use the same frequency range as Wireless PittNet and can interfere with wireless service.  Avoid using 2.4 GHz wireless devices in locations where Wireless PittNet is available.
