Volleyball Earns Sweep at Mount Aloysius
10/22/07...Pitt Johnstown junior middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had nine kills and three block assists to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a non-conference sweep at Mount Aloysius College, Monday night. With the win, the Lady Cats made it three straight wins and evened their overall record at 11-11.
Pitt Johnstown dealt the Mounties 30-14, 30-15 and 33-31 losses to secure the sweep.
Along with Ritenour, sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had eight kills, four block solos and five block assists, while sophomore outside hitter Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) added four kills and four block assists. Head Coach Linda Renzi also got 28 assists from freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) and eight digs apiece from Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) and Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.).
With the loss, Mount Aloysius fell to 12-10 on the season.
The Lady Cats travel to West Virginia Wesleyan College for a WVIAC match on Friday, before hosting their final two home matches of the 2007 regular season against Salem International (WV) University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and West Virginia State University on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
