Women's Soccer Rolls to, 6-0, Win Over Columbia Union
     09/30/07...Sophomore midfielder Kristin Kelly (Bethel Park, Pa.) had two goals and an assist, and freshman goalkeeper Brittany Pryde (Fairhope, Pa.) recorded her second straight shutout to lead the Pitt Johnstown women's soccer team to a, 6-0, home win over Columbia Union (MD) College, Sunday afternoon.  Pitt Johnstown, which outshot the Pioneers, 64-1, improved to 6-5-0.
     Kelly opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 19th minute, before adding her second of the game on a penalty kick in the 59th minute to give Pitt Johnstown a 2-0 lead.  Freshman Lauren Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore Lindsay Plowman (Apollo, Pa.) increased the lead to 4-0 with goals in the 64th and 65th minutes, and freshmen Emily Bashore (Millersburg, Pa.) and Alissa Falcone (Murrysville, Pa.) finished the scoring with goals in the 83rd and 88th minutes to secure Pitt Johnstown's 6-0 win.  Sophomore Chrissy Burnsworth (McKeesport, Pa.) collected two assists, and freshman Taylor Jones (Shippensburg, Pa.) added one assist for Head Coach Crystal Dye's team.
     Pryde faced only one shot and didn't have to make a save to post her second shutout in as many days.  Pryde is now 2-1-0 on the year.  Columbia Union goalkeeper April Ridenour faced 64 shots, including 28 shots on-goal.  Ridenour made 22 saves, but gave up all six goals for the Pioneers, who fell to 3-5-2.
     Pitt Johnstown travels to West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday and to Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Saturday for a pair of WVIAC conference matches, before returning home to host Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University for another conference match on Tuesday, October 9 at 4:00 p.m.
