Women's Soccer Drops 8-0 Decision to Hosts at Findlay Tournament
Kristin Kelly, Emily Babik Named to All-Tournament Team
09/16/07...Head Coach Crystal Dye's women's soccer team surrendered seven first half goals and suffered an 8-0 loss to the host school in Sunday's final round of the University of Findlay (OH) Tournament. Sophomore midfielder Kristin Kelly (Bethel Park, Pa.) and sophomore defender Emily Babik (St. Mary's Pa.) were named to the All-Tournament Team for Pitt Johnstown, which posted an 0-2 record at the tournament. Pitt Johnstown is 3-3-0 on the year.
Findlay jumped on Pitt Johnstown for two goals in the first three minutes of the match, before adding five more first half goals. The Oliers then set the final score at 8-0 with a goal with 10:43 to play in the second half.
Pitt Johnstown's Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) had six shots and three of the team's seven shots on-goal. Findlay had 20 shots and 11 shots on-goal against Pitt Johnstown goalkeeper Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.), who suffered the loss and fell to 3-3-0 after giving up all eight goals and making three saves.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Chatham College on Wednesday and to Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University for a WVIAC conference match on Saturday. The team will play its next home match against Carlow University on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m.
