     Jessica was another newcomer that made an impact as a true freshman…in 23 games played, including her first collegiate start at the NCAA East Regional Tournament, Jessica averaged 5.5 points per game and led the team in rebounding at 5.9 rebounding per game.  She also paced the Lady Cats in field goal percentage at 61.8% (47-76) and was fifth on the team in free-throw percentage at 71.7% (33-46)…in one season, Jessica recorded highs of 16 points against Longwood (VA) University on 02/28/04 and 14 rebounds against nationally-ranked Glenville State (WV) College on 01/19/04…she also grabbed 10 rebounds in a game and scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds in the NCAA Tournament against Barton (NC) College…as a freshman, Jessica led the Lady Cats in rebounding 10 times…Jessica runs well for a post player…she is perfect for the Lady Cat system of fast-paced offense…Jessica will look to build off of last season’s success as she competes for the starting forward position in 2004-05…daughter of Jim and Patty Zapf.


      A four-year letter winner, three-year starter and two-year team captain, Jessica is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,159 points...she also ranks among the top five in all-time rebounding with 615 rebounds...other totals include 315 career assists, 36 three-point field goals, 180 steals and 180 blocked shots…holds school records for points in a game with 37 and rebounds in a game with 19…2003 Eat’n Park Pennsylvania Hoops Roundball Classic All-Star selection…named Second Team Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Class AAAA and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Section as a senior…two-time Pittsburgh Tribune-Review North Fab Five…Most Valuable Player at 2000 Burrell High School Christmas Tournament, and All-Tournament selection at 2001 Fox Chapel High School Tournament, 2002 New Castle High School Tip-Off Tournament and 2002 Hampton High School Christmas Tournament…member of the National Honor Society and ranked 21st in senior class with a 4.03 G.P.A….nominated for 2002-03 Chatham College Student-Athlete Award and was recognized for National Student-Athlete Day… recipient of 2000 North Hills Excellent Achievement Award…Jessica runs well for a post player…she is perfect for the Lady Cat system of fast-paced offense…Jessica works hard and continually strives to get better everyday…daughter of Jim and Patty Zapf…played for Head Coach Mark Timko at North Hills High School.
