     After playing in 26 of Pitt Johnstown’s 28 games as a true freshman, Samantha started all 28 of the Lady Cats’ games as a sophomore…she was the team’s fourth leading scorer at 12.2 points per game and third leading rebounder at 5.1 rebounds per game…Samantha’s 88.1% (89-110) shooting from the free-throw line led the Lady Cats’ and ranked her third in NCAA Division II at the end of the season…In the first NCAA statistics released on January 7, 2004, Samantha ranked first in the country in field goal percentage at 70.3% and on January 27 and February 1, she led the nation in free-throw percentage.  Samantha also finished second on the team in field goal percentage at 60.8% (127-209)…in two seasons at Pitt Johnstown Samantha has highs of 23 points against Bloomsburg University on 01/31/04 and 13 rebounds against West Virginia State on 01/11/04…In addition, she scored 21 points twice and pulled down 10 rebounds twice during the 2003-04 season…Samantha led the Lady Cats in scoring twice and rebounding eight times last year…Samantha earned All-Tournament Team honors at the 2004 Converse (SC) College tournament…she is a talented player who understands the game…she positions herself intelligently at both ends of the court…she also has guard talent with her terrific passing ability…Samantha is also a member of the Lady Cat track and field team…daughter of Mike and Sue Conner.


      Samantha finished her career as Everett High School’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,626 points…she eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau on January 21, 2001…Conner also pulled down 991 career rebounds, blocked 188 shots, dished out 262 assists and made 225 steals on her way to leading her school to District 5 championships in 2000 and 2001 and a runner-up finish in 2002…scored 500 points and had 338 rebounds during her senior season…earned the school’s Outstanding Senior Award in both basketball and volleyball…she was a three-time Bedford County First Team All-Star, a two-time Sideling Hill First Team All-Star and a Summit Quest All-Star in 2002…named Second Team Altoona Mirror as a senior, Third Team as junior and Honorable Mention as a sophomore…three-time Lewistown Christmas Tournament All-Tournament Team selection and the tournament’s Most Valuable Player as a freshman…as a sophomore, she was named a Notre Dame Basketball Camp MVP All-Star…in eighth grade, her team won the Bronze Medal at the National Invitational AAU Basketball Tournament at Disney World in Orlando, FL…on the volleyball court, she helped lead her team the PIAA Elite Eight in 2001 and 2002…Conner was a two-year member of the National Honor Society and a two-year Class Vice-President…coached by her mother, Sue Conner, at Everett High School.
