AT PITT JOHNSTOWN...

     Jaclyn, a 2004-05 Co-Captain, played in all 28 of the Lady Cats’ games in 2003-04 and provided Coach Gault with a reliable guard off the bench…she didn’t put up huge numbers, but Jaclyn was a very reliable back-up…she averaged nearly one point and one rebound per in six minutes per game…Jaclyn also made 17 steals and hit 72.7% (8-11) from the free-throw line…in her first two seasons as a Lady Cat, Jaclyn has single-game highs of eight points vs. Georgian Court College on 02/24/03, four rebounds against Davis & Elkins (WV) College on 02/02/04 and two assists on five separate occasions…Jaclyn is a hard-nosed, scrappy player who gained valuable experience as a freshman…she is also a disciplined player who has worked hard to develop her skills…Jaclyn will battle for one of the two guard spots vacated by the graduation of Crystal Barr and Kristin Creswell…daughter of Jim and Ida Schirf.

AT BISHOP CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL...

     Jaclyn averaged 9.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as a senior to help lead Bishop Carroll High School to the 2002 PIAA Class A State Championship…Schirf, a three-year starter who earned the 2002 “Miss Hustle Award” at the school, finished her career with 761 points, 324 rebounds, 208 assists, 129 steals and three trips to the post season playoffs…she was named 2001-02 First Team Laurel Highlands Conference and earned North Team Most Valuable Player at the 2002 Summit Quest All-Star Game…Schirf also played for the Cambria County team in the 2002 Big John Riley All-Star Game…she was named to the 2001-02 CDM Laurel Highlands All-Star Team and was selected Third Team Altoona Mirror All Area…in 2000 and 2001, the Altoona Mirror named her Honorable Mention All-Area… Schirf is a two-time All-Tournament Team selection at the State College Rotary Tournament and recipient of the 2001 State College Rotary Tournament Kiwanis Most Valuable Person Award…she is a recipient of a Leadership Academic Scholarship at Pitt Johnstown…coached by Bob Gongloff at Bishop Carroll High School.
