CAREER COUNSELING
A career counselor is available to talk with you concerning your career goals and questions. It is best to stop by and schedule an appointment during normal business hours. CAREER LIBRARY
The extensive Career Library is available to the public during normal office hours. It offers a wide variety of information on: general career goal planning; summer jobs; graduate, professional and undergraduate schools; resume writing; interviewing; specific career fields; and job opportunities. COMPUTER LAB
The Career Services Office offers online computer access to assist in career exploration as well as instruction on the use of FutureLinks which is an online job search and recruiting system utilized by the Career Services Office at Pitt Oakland.
INTEREST INVENTORIES
Interest inventories are offered to any student wishing to have a profile of his/her interests. A small fee is charged for this service. Testing results are returned and can be discussed with a career counselor. Click here to view the instructions.
MAJOR/SCHOOL SELECTION
Many students use Career Services when they are attempting to select a major, considering a transfer to another school, or when they are changing majors. You may also want to view the pamphlets "What can I do with this Major?". You will need to enter in your UPJ Username and Password. We also have an extensive library that contains books such as "Great Jobs for Biology Majors" and "Opportunities in Public Relations".
GRADUATE/PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL SELECTION
The Career Services Office provides assistance when students are deciding whether or not to go on to graduate/professional school. You can also view an online resource for graduate school and graduate program information. Or view information about colleges and universities and graduate schools at Petersons.com.
SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS
Workshops and seminars on resume writing, interviewing, job hunting, etc. are held at various times during the term.

RESUME REVIEW/DUPLICATION

INTERNSHIPS
Career Services coordinates the internship program. Internships are a valuable part of the employment process. It will increase your experience and ultimately help you when it comes time to look for a full-time position. To learn more click here.
BIG "S" PART-TIME/SUMMER JOB REFERRAL SYSTEM
This system is used to distribute information regarding both part-time and summer jobs. You must register for this in the UPJ Career Services Office or downloaded the form, fill it out and submit it to Career Services.
ON CAMPUS INTERVIEWING
Employers come to interview seniors both at UPJ and on the Oakland campus in Pittsburgh. Click here to view a list of employers who will be interviewing in 2008 at UPJ. BIG "E" FULL-TIME JOB REFERRAL SYSTEM
The Big “E” is a UPJ based online job referral system which may help you secure employment after graduation. Students are automatically registered when they reach 85 or more credits. Alumni may register through the UPJ Career Services Office. The registration form may be downloaded, filled out and submitted to Career Services. PITT PLACEMENT (OAKLAND CAMPUS)
UPJ students and Alumni have FULL ACCESS to ALL services offered at the University Career Services Office in Pittsburgh. Pitt Placement offers an online job system, FutureLinks. All Pitt University students and alumni are able to manage their own online “portfolio” of documents, job searches and academic information from any internet capable personal computer! Students can obtain information about registering at www.careers.pitt.edu or by stopping in the UPJ Career Services Office.
JOB FAIRS
The Career Services Office provides access to several job fairs throughout the school year. This makes it possible to meet representatives from a large number of companies in one setting.
