STUDENT COMPUTER PURCHASE PROGRAM
Information Technology recommends brand name, windows-based computers (ex: Gateway and Dell) as they generally insure better industry standard compatibility. Most new students plan to use their computer for 4 years so we advise against bargain basement models and configurations. Check this site in early June for special student PC offers.
In addition to these PC’s, the University has agreements with Apple, DELL and Gateway offering other top-quality computers to Pitt student at special educational prices. Complete information is available online at: http://www.pitt.edu/computer

Please note:
- All UPJ students are eligible for free software through our Microsoft Software campus lease program. All incoming students can request a copy of MS Office Professional and upgrades to Operating Systems at the start of the fall term.
- UPJ does not offer any repair service for student PC’s, we will however recommend local vendors who offer such services.
- Arrangements for network hook-ups and software installation can be made through the ResNet office, 238 Blackington Hall. Residence hall students will receive further details during fall check-in.
