AAAB Job Fair

Sixth Annual Job Fair
Job Fair - September 25, 2009 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Pitt-Johnstown Student Union Building - Cambria Room.  See below for contact information.

History

The AAAB in 2004 decided to organize a Job Fair in order to contribute to the Pitt-Johnstown community and to assist accounting majors who are seeking employment.

The office of Career Services, Student Life, and the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association agreed to assist in this endeavor.

In 2004, twelve Pitt-Johnstown alumni represented their companies.  For 2005, the Job Fair was expanded to include both accounting and management majors.  In 2006, there were approximately 30 companies represented at the Job Fair.  Most of the companies were represented by Pitt-Johnstown alumni although that is not a prerequisite for attending the Job Fair.

Not only do employers attend the Job Fair but also graduate programs and professional organizations attend.

There is no cost to attend the Job Fair (either for the job fair participants/employers and the students who attend)  and and it is open to the public.  The committee encourages students from other Universities to attend as well.

The Job Fair has always been entirely supported by Pitt-Johnstown alumni and specifically "accounting" alumni.  Their support of this event is is a testimont of their desire to "give back" to the University.   Donations are used for the cost of refreshments and lunch for the participants, set-up costs (decorations, signs, etc.), and miscellaneous supplies.  For the past several years, alumni have also donated the cost of the CD's used to prepare a Resume CD of Pitt-Johnstown students.  This CD is provided to all Job Fair participants as well as alumni and employers who request it.

Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of the CD should contact the AAAB at AAAB@pitt.edu
