Book Authorization

Book authorizations are available for students with credit balances on their account.

  • You must determine the amount of the book authorization (which cannot exceed your credit balance) by pricing your books in the Book Store.
  • Once you have established the amount necessary, visit the Business Office to have the authorization processed.  You will be given a form with the approved credit amount.
  • Then, you must go to the Book Store in the Student Union, where they will set up an account for you in the amount you established in the Business Office.
  • They will provide you with additional instruction and setup the account for you as you select your purchases.
  • You may only receive one book authorization per term, so be sure the amount requested will cover the necessary expenses.

Thirty days into the term, the book authorization ends and your student account will be updated with the exact amount that you charged. Any amount not used will be credited to your account and automatically refunded.  Please be sure to sign up for direct deposit to receive any refunds that may be warranted. If there is a change in the anticipated credit balance resulting in a balance due, it is the students responsibility to pay.
