2003-04 Season

Carlos, a three-year starter for Coach Rukavina, played in 27 games and started 26 games last season. Carlos led the Mountain Cats in offensive rebounds (69) and was second in scoring (11.6 ppg.) and rebounding (5.7 rpg.), total rebounds (154), defensive rebounds (85) and field goals made (129). Carlos was also third on the team in blocked shots (18) and tied for third in steals (26). He led the Mountain Cats in scoring five times and rebounding 11 times during the 2003-04 season. Carlos scored 20 or more points three times and grabbed 10 rebounds on three occasions last season. He was named Honorable Mention Independent Player of the Week twice on his way to earning Second Team All-Independent honors. In three seasons, Carlos has posted career highs of 27 points against West Virginia Wesleyan on 01/05/04 and 13 rebounds against West Virginia Wesleyan College on 12/14/02. He enters this season 736 career points and 408 career rebounds. Carlos, like Paul Byer, should reach the 1,000-point plateau. Carlos is also 73 rebounds shy of joining Pitt Johnstown’s top ten All-Time Career Rebounding list. At 6’8” and 255 lbs., Carlos’ hard word turned him into one of the top centers in the East Region.

2002-03 Season

Carlos appeared in 26 games and made 23 starts. He averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. His 15 blocked shots were second on the team and his 154 total rebounds were third on the team. Carlos led the Mountain Cats in scoring three times and rebounding eight times. 

2001-02 Season

Carlos played in all 27 games and made seven starts as a true freshman on his way to averaging 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He led Pitt Johnstown in blocked shots with 17. Carlos also led the Mountain Cats in scoring three times and rebounding four times.

At Central Catholic High School

Carlos played for Head Coach Chuck Crummie at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School. He averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game as a senior. Carlos was also named to the All Section Team and was selected to participate in the Born to Run All Star game following his senior season. He also led his team to the 2001 WPIAL Section 7 Championship and a berth in the PA State Quarterfinals.
Carlos comes from the same high school as Pitt Johnstown’s all-time leading scorer Justin Walther.
