Degree Requirements

TO MAJOR: Ten sociology courses (30 credits), distributed as below:

• Four Core Courses: SOC 0100, 0300, 0400, 1700
• Social Organization [any one of the following]: SOC 0310, 0320, 0340, 0440, 0510, 0520
• Society and the Self [any one of the following]: SOC 0221, 0710, 1670 Sociology Electives:
• Any four additional sociology courses

• Related Specialized Study Option: SOC SCI 1901 Internship [Sociology]
• General Education Requirements for Sociology Majors include SOC 1700 and any other writing enhanced course to fulfill the writing competency requirement.
• Writing-Enhanced courses in Sociology include: SOC 0310, 0320, 0340, 0440, 0461, 1113, and 1700.

TO MINOR: 18 credits in sociology, distributed as below:

• SOC 0100 Introduction to Sociology
• SOC 0300 Research Methods
• SOC 0400 Classical Sociological Theory
• ANY THREE (3) additional sociology courses
