Track Places Sixth at WV Wesleyan Invitational 4/17/09...The Pitt-Johnstown 4x100 relay team placed third to lead the Lady Cat track & field team to a sixth place out of eight teams finish at Friday's West Virginia Wesleyan College Invitational... (Full Results) The 4x100 relay team, made up of Diana Harrison (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Lauren Penn (Plum, Pa.), Lindsey Plowman (Apollo, Pa.) and Alicia Zack (Irwin, Pa.) placed third with a time of 59.89. Kate Shemak (Murrysville, Pa.) finished sixth in the long jump (3.28m), while Taylor Morsillo (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished seventh in the 1500m (6:15.31) and 10th in the javelin (23.55m). The Lady Cats also got an eight-place finish in the 800m by Brittney Miller (Slippery Rock, Pa.) and a 10th-place finish by Berlyn Hubler (Allport, Pa.) in the 5000m. West Virginia Wesleyan won the team competition with 122 points. Concord and Charleston tied for second with 25 points, while Glenville State (21 points), Alderson-Broaddus (16 points), Pitt-Johnstown (4 points), West Virginia University (2 points) and West Virginia State (1 point) rounded out the field.
Track & Field Competes at Slippery Rock Invitational 4/11/09...Rachele Gentile (North Apollo, Pa.) placed eighth in the long jump with a jump of 4.27m to lead the Lady Cat track & field team at Saturday's Slippery Rock University Invitational... (Complete Results) Along with Gentile, Taylor Morsillo (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 12th in the javelin (25.03m), and Cassie Nath (Ligonier, Pa.) finished 14th in the shot put (7.51m) and 17th in the discus (14.69m). In the track events, the Lady Cat 4x100 relay team placed sixth with a time of 56.14. In addition, Stephanie Paha (Slickville, Pa.) was seventh in the 5000m (23:55.04), and Berlyn Hubler (Allport, Pa.) was eighth (25:58.31). Diana Harrison (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Lauren Penn (Plum, Pa.) were 14th and 15th, respectively in the 100 meter dash with times of 14.28 and 14.34, while Morsillo finished 18th in the 1500m. Brittney Miller (Slippery Rock, Pa.) finished 21st in the 800m (2:53.84). Pitt-Johnstown travels to the West Virginia Wesleyan College Invitational on Friday.
