Shane burst onto the wrestling scene and climbed to as high as No. 2 in the nation...finished season with a 31-14 overall record and a 17-7 dual-meet record...placed fourth at East Regional Tournament...national qualifier...second on team with 10 falls and fifth with 16 decisions...also had three major decisions and two defaults...won championship at Washington & Jefferson Open and Wilkes Open.
Sophomore Season (2007-2008)
Shane ended the season with a 28-14 overall record and a 13-9 dual-meet record at 141 lbs...placed fourth at the East Regional Tournament and fourth at the National Tournament…tied for team lead with 10 falls and was fourth on team with 16 decisions...won championships at Wilkes Open and at Washington & Jefferson Collegiate Open.
Junior Season (2008-2009)
Shane posted a near perfect 28-1 overall record and a perfect 14-0 dual meet record on his way to being the 2009 national runner-up at 133 lbs...his only loss came in the National Title bout...won East Regional Tournament Championship and was named the East Region’s outstanding wrestler...tied for team lead with 28 wins and led team with 14 dual meet victories and 18 falls...broke Thad Benton’s school-record of 17 falls in a season set in 2002-03...won title and named outstanding wrestler at Washington & Jefferson Collegiate Open...placed fourth at Penn State Open.
High School
Four-year letterman...career record of 164-17 and senior season record of 47-2...three-time PIAA AA State place winner, including a third place finish in 2005...also placed fourth in both 2003 and 2004 at the State Tournament...qualified for the High School National Tournament as a senior.
