Kevin McDonald Earns Medalist at Pitt-Bradford Invitational
Men's Golf Team Finishes Third
09/05/09...Pitt-Johnstown freshman golfer Kevin McDonald (Erie, Pa.) fired a tournament best 1-under 71 to lead the Mountain Cat golfers to a third-place finish at Saturday's season-opening Pitt-Bradford Invitational at the Pine Acres Country Club in Bradford, Pa.
McDonald led all golfers with his 71, while B.J. Torau (Ligonier, Pa.) finished fourth with a 1-over 73. In addition, Jason Vercellotti (Oakmont, Pa.) (+5, 77), Jacob Bolby (Ligonier, Pa.) (+7, 79), Ben Sera (North Huntingdon, Pa.) (+12, 84) and Josh Miller (Spring, TX) (+13, 85) also competed for Pitt-Johnstown.
Penn State-Behrend's 304 won the team competition, followed by Penn State-Altoona (309) and PITT-JOHNSTOWN (313).
The Mountain Cats travel to the Penn State-Altoona Invitational at Iron Masters Golf Club in Martinsburg, Pa. on Sept 18 and to the Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University Invitational on Sept. 21-22 at Moundsville Country Club in Wheeling, WV.
