Welcome to the Division of Natural Sciences. The Division includes eight departments and fifty-two full-time faculty members. Programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree include Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology and Planetary Sciences, Health Related Professions (see Department of Allied Health), Natural Sciences (with a concentration in Biopsychology or Geology), Mathematics, and Psychology. Associate Degree programs in Allied Health are also offered in Emergency Medical Services, Respiratory Care and Surgical Technology. Preparatory curricula for Applied Developmental Psychology, Clinical Dietetics/Nutrition, Health Information Management, Occupational Therapy and Pharmacy are also offered at Pitt-Johnstown. Students who wish to major in these areas may take course work (usually 60 credits) at Pitt-Johnstown. During their second year at Pitt-Johnstown, students must apply for admission to the specific departments at the Pittsburgh campus to complete degree requirements. We also offer a joint Medical Technology program with Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in which students earn either a Biology or Chemistry degree from Pitt-Johnstown and a certificate in Med Tech from the hospital.
